Illustrated Historical Atlas of the State of Indiana (1876)

TheIllustrated Historical Atlas of the State of Indiana contains maps of not just Indiana counties and towns, but also national maps and statistics from the 1870 United States Census. The images from this atlas were prepared by Dellie Craig; the database itself was created and indexed by Adam Rice.

  • Use * as a wild card character: John* finds John, Johns, Johnson, etc.
  • To view the actual atlas page as a pdf., click on the link in your search results.
  • Supplements to the business and patron directors are being added regularly.
  • If a town that you are looking for is not indexed, try searching for the county map.
  • The Keyword field searches all fields in the database. You can use * as a wild card character: B* finds Boone, Blackford, Benton, etc.
  • The Maps and Statistics drop-down menus allow you to select one of the many detailed maps and graphs available in the atlas.
