Title:
Cowan And Others

Description:
Dr. Edward Howard Cowan (E. H. Cowan) of Crawfordsville is seated (second from right) in this photograph. Cowan was Montgomery County's last living Civil War veteran before his death. This photograph was most likely taken at an encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), because Cowan and the other men in the photograph are wearing military uniforms. This photograph is dated 1940-10-02 on the back (most likely the date that it was printed), and "Skillern's - Dallas" was also stamped on the back of the photograph.
