This photograph titled, "Cherries," was taken by Crawfordsville photographer, Nellie A. Coutant. The photograph was printed in the June 1908 issue (Volume XVI, No. 63) of "The Burr McIntosh Monthly." "The Burr McIntosh Monthly" was published by the Burr Publishing Company (4 West 22nd Street, New York City). The publishers had this to say about the photograph: "The features of the third prize-winning photograph, entitled, 'Cherries,' taken by Nellie Coutant, are the gracefulness of pose of the figure and the evident knowledge expressed in rendering the photograph." Coutant won a $10 prize for this photograph, courtesy of the magazine. This photograph was acquisitioned by Jodie Steelman Wilson, September 2010. The original magazine is located in Local History archival storage.
