"The Burr McIntosh Monthly" was published by the Burr Publishing Company (4 West 22nd Street, New York City). The publishers had this to say about the photograph: "The features of the third prize-winning photograph, entitled, 'Cherries,' taken by Nellie Coutant, are the gracefulness of pose of the figure and the evident knowledge expressed in rendering the photograph." Coutant won a $10 prize for this photograph, courtesy of the magazine. This photograph was acquisitioned by Jodie Steelman Wilson, September 2010.
